A-I-A / DeBond is an advanced biodegradable paint remover effective in the removal of industrial  paints and coating systems and powder coating from steel, concrete, aluminum, masonry, brick, wood and other alloys.

A-I-A is designed for quick and effective lead and asbestos-based paint and coating removal and encapsulation while also being effective on all types of industrial paint/coatings and powder coating.  Its superior formula is designed more quickly than DeBOND for projects where speed and worker safety is imperative. Due to the encapsulation properties, A-I-A is used extensively in the hazardous materials abatement becuase of the reduced waste stream and improved safety for users.

A-I-A / DeBond is designed to remove paint and coatings on surfaces where abrasive blast cleaning is not an option, such as the restoration of brick, sandstone, wood or other delicate surfaces.  Using A-I-A / DeBond will ensure that the original appearance of the substrate is not damaged in any way.  Physical damage which can occur during mechanical blast cleaning is avoided.

In the removal process, two waste streams are created, liquid waste (composed of used product and wash water) and solid waste (removed paint material and encapsulated lead/asbestos).  Liquid waste is inert and fully biodegradable, which minimizes the amount of waste that needs to be collected and disposed of.  Solid waste should be collected and disposed of according to local regulations.

FOR USE ON

A-I-A / DeBond can be used on most indoor and outdoor and vertical and horizontal surfaces where paint/coating removal is required.  This product is effective is removing multiple layers of paint/coatings, however, multiple product application and removal processes may be required.  When using on delicate surfaces, such as wood, brick or sandstone, always test a small area first.

APPLICATION & DWELL TIME

Apply A-I-A / DeBOND using an airless sprayer of HVLP equipment.  Do not atomize.  Use equipment capable of 2000 pse fitted with chemical resistant packaging.  Products can be applied with a brush or roller on horizontal surfaces and in small areas as results will be less consistent.  Once applied on the surface DO NOT AGGITATE PRODUCT.  If removing multiple layers, multiple applications may be required.

Dwell time will vary due to factors such as type and layers of paint, temperature etc.  Most removal times will take between 1 – 6 hours to lift.  Some hight performance coatings may take up to 24 hours.  Do not allow product to dry on surface, reapply more product.

REMOVAL

Residue can be removed by pressure washer (2500 – 3000 psi).  During the removal process two waste streams are created, liquid waste (composed of used product and wash water) and solid waste (removed paint material).  Liquid waste is inert and fully biodegradable, solid waste should be collected and disposed of according to local government regulations.  For indoor applications, use a scraper and squeegee then wet/dry vacuum system.  Do not store removed material in metal containers.
