DeRUST™ is suitable for indoor/outdoor use. It will remove rust and iron surface contamination from;
- Steel and Steel Alloys
- Stainless Steel
- Aluminum
- Certain other metals and Painted Metals
- Concrete (some surface cross contamination staining) and
- Certain Natural Stone and some Plastics
- Patina off copper and brass
First, preclean surfaces to remove all oils, grease, dirt and other contaminates, using Protocol’s DEEP CLEAN XTREME or other alkaline cleaner / degreaser.
Remove any loose or heavy rust scale using a stiff brush. When applying by synthetic brush or by spray, apply a liberal amount of DeRUST™ (Gel) directly on the affected area. Ensure complete coverage Once applied, DO NOT agitate or interfere with.
DeRUST™ (Liquid) is designed for dip / immersion tanks ONLY. It is not designed for spray application as it will not cling to the surface.
When using DeRUST™ on porous surfaces (such as concrete) liberally applying DeRUST™ (Liquid) to soak the affected area, then applying DeRUST™ (Gel) to cover the affected area, can product better results.

LIQUID:
RECHARGABLE – In dip/immersion tanks the product can be reused for several week or months depending on the severity of rust on each part and the number and size of parts being treated. Filter our sediment and add new product.
DeRUST™ Gel and Liquid are ready to use, DO NOT DILUTE. Do not allow product to freeze.

Dwell time can range from 30 minutes to 24 hours. Wipe, wash or pressure wash off.
DeRUSTTM (Gel) left for tended periods of time and will harden to a protective “crust”. Pressure washing to remove will be required.
Always perform a test patch to determine adequate dwell time / immersion time..
Dwell time will vary greatly based on the degree of rust scale. Warmer temperatures will increase working speed and decrease dwell time.
DeRUSTTM can be left on surfaces as long as is needed – overnight or until removal is convenient – without fear of pitting, corrosion or damage the healthy metal.
